What A Great Day Of Transitioning….

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

On Sunday April 11th – buckets of rain dropped outside but that did not keep 8 women from gathering at Vara Healing Arts to explore their personal mythic journey with Suze and I at the helm. Our class “Women In Transition – Climbing Into Your Authentic Self” was interwoven with yoga, personal insight, sharing and an adventurous spirit to delve into writing exercises inspired by Joseph Campbell’s The Hero With A Thousand Faces.

The five hours moved along with a sense of ease and spaciousness and by the days end I was moved by the stories of transition. I was touched by what these women brought to the class and filled with gratitude by what they were able to see in themselves. Such an honor to facilitate and witness this state of being together – both, individually and as a group.

If we can do so much in 5 hours, what will a weekend at Esalen do?!?! We’ll be there May 28th – 30th… I can’t wait.

Women In Transition – Climbing Into Your Authentic Self… In Esalen!

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

When: Friday, May 28 – Sunday May 30, 2010
Where: Esalen Institute, Big Sur, California

Your house is on fire. Your boat is sinking. What do you want take with you? What are you happy to watch sink or go up in flames? Gain a deeper understanding of your life in transition and find out what’s standing in the way of your being your most authentic self. This workshop combines hatha yoga, purposeful writing, deep relaxation and guided meditation for dealing with change and discomfort.

Embrace the dark so you can move into the light. Through creative writing exercises, restorative and rigorous hatha yoga, relaxation and meditation you can wake up into present time. In this clear space you discover your power of choice and can choose what you desire rather than what you think you’re supposed to do or what others want from you. Ah, freedom.

In this weekend workshop we will interweave nature, ritual and a healthy dose of humor into the new fabric of who you are. Iyengar-influenced hatha yoga is appropriate for all levels.

Taught by author and educator Suze Allen and Jnana M. Gowan, Certified Yoga Instructor author and educator.
