Mindful Motherhood – Evolving into the parent you choose to be with awareness and intention – daylong workshop – November 1, 2009
Friday, October 16th, 2009When: Sunday, November 1, 2009 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Where: San Francisco Zen Center – 300 Page St. SF, California
For this daylong urban retreat you’ll delve into the basic principles of mindfulness meditation. We’ll use hatha yoga as a tool to connect you more deeply to the body and breath, thus becoming more aware of yourself in the present time. Whether you are pregnant and just beginning on the road to parenthood or are the mother of a teenager, this retreat embodies the spirit of NOW… and a few ways to get (t)here! We spend time in sitting & in walking meditation and practice yoga as a way of being mindful in action. This workshop covers concepts of mindful parenting and introduces tools featured in the book Mindful Motherhood, (New Harbinger Publications 2009) written by Dr. Cassandra Vieten. Jnana designed and authored the hatha yoga series chapter for the book.
Be sure to bring your yoga mat and wear comfy clothes to move in.
If you are a new mom and want to join us, please do! You may arrange for nursing breaks during the day.
This retreat lead by authors & educators Dr. Cassandra (Cassi) Vieten and Jnana Gowan, Certified Yoga Instructor
